This is an opportunity for the Isle of Wight to use art to create a renewed sense of identity, growth, connection and emerge out of the pandemic stronger, more vibrant and more visible.

We will create a new exciting dialogue between art and the UNESCO recognised landscape of the Isle of Wight. Putting the Isle of Wight on the creative map, boosting tourism and inspiring local artists, by attracting internationally recognised sculpture.

We are working on commissioning a central site specific sculpture that will both represent and define the Isle of Wight to a broader international audience so that no visit to the island will be complete without a visit to the work.

Longer term goals are to map sculpture trails providing opportunities to discover overlooked corners of the Island and additional reasons to visit.

Local communities will benefit through targeted outreach programs, strong links to schools and knock on value to hospitality and tourism.

There will be a changing yearly sculpture exhibition and funds for a sculptor in residence, in a project that will be sustainable in all ways - environmentally, artistically and socially.
